Chris' CareerChris has had a lifelong passion for the theatre. He believes to be really good at something you must love what you do. He was still in school in Birmingham when he went did work experience at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre. On leaving school at sixteen he returned to the Rep, taking any job he could: he worked backstage, front of house, as an usher, in the box office, stage door, wardrobe department, anything to get his foot in the door. He rose to become head of marketing. Then he took a similar post at a larger theatre, the Birmingham Hippodrome, then went on to become head of marketing in theatres in London’s West End for ten years. Finally, in 2003, he was offered the post of Marketing Director of the National Theatre where he now is. |  | |
