Robert’s Career

Robert is a very experienced stage actor and has worked in regional repertory theatres across Britain from Liverpool to Cardiff, Leicester, Clywd and Swansea. At the National Theatre his work has included Dylan Thomas Under Milk Wood as well as Henry V. He has so far made eight feature films and has appeared in many television dramas including the BBC Wales drama series Lifeboat, The Bill, Mortimer’s Law and Boon. Recently he created Richard ‘Fagin’ Hepplewhite, the central character in BBC Wales comedy drama High Hopes. Robert described the Walter Mitty-like Fagin as “agoraphobic, paranoid and disillusioned; he thinks he’s an expert on the world economy but he isn’t”.
