I Want To Be A Playwright Anyone aspiring to become a playwright should first and foremost be passionate about plays and writing plays. There is a wide range of courses in drama, writing for the stage and creative writing that may suit you, but you may well write first and foremost because you feel compelled to do so because you have something you want to say, and theatre is the best medium in which to say it. When starting out it is wise to seek advice and feedback on your work. Like any would-be novelist, you should think about sending a sample of your work to an agent. Their names and addresses can be found in a publication called The Writers’ and Artists’ Year Book , A & C Black Ltd. If you do decide to do this remember to keep a copy yourself, and, if you want your manuscript returned, enclose enough stamps to pay for the postage. | | |
