Meet Terje Isungset

Go

Composer and musical director Terje Isungset always wanted to play drums, and before owned any, he played rhythms on garbage cans. Terje got his first drum kit when he was eight years old, and started playing traditional music at weddings and parties with his father, who was an accordion player. Later on, he joined several bands influenced by different styles of music like blues or rock. He felt, however, that he wasn’t giving the music anything new. In his mid-twenties, he started completely from scratch, with no roots, no rhythm and no harmony, and began to create unique sounds.
